iv heard the style is differnt from the nz/aussie position/style.Iv seen the races as well and it does look different,i just cant figure out why though.

american jockeys ride a litte different to……. Frankel, the Greatest Thoroughbred Race Horse of All Time? Maybe, Maybe Not

His trainer Henry Cecil has said that he is the best horse he has seen in his lifetime soon after he defeated Canford Cliffs by five lengths in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes. Canford Cliffs is a five time consecutive Group 1 winner and he has defeated three time Breeders’ Cup Turf Mile Champion Goldikova, and Frankel left him in his wake. Many believe he is the world’s greatest race horse right now and has the potential to stamp himself of one of the truly all time greats.

Even Prince Khalid Abdullah remarked of his undefeated eight for eight three year old colt: “I think he is the best ever I have had.”, and he has been involved in horse racing as a leading owner and breeder since the 1960’s. Some of his past great runners include Zafonic, Danehill, Commander in Chief, Rainbow Quest, Banks Hill and even the 2003 Belmont winner Empire Maker, so to say that Frankel may be the best he has ever had is quite a statement.

Frankel has won all eight of his starts, including the 2000 Guineas, which he won by six lengths and for which he received a Timeform rating of 142. Timeform is a mathematical way of determining the strength of a horse’s performance. Only three horses in racing history have received a Timeform rating higher than this – Brigadier General in 1968 and Tudor Minstrel in 1944 each were awarded a 144, and Sea Bird received a 145 in 1962, the highest rating ever assigned. Abernat and Ribot also received 142 ratings. Frankel is therefore in exclusive company.

Frankel will have only one more race in 2011 – the prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on October 15, 2011 at Ascot.

Frankel was sired by Galileo who was the European Champion Three Year Old Colt of 2001. He won the Epsom Derby and Irish Derby, both races being just over a mile and a half. Despite this stamina oriented breeding, after Frankel’s win in the St. James’s Palace Stakes, which was accomplished after opening up by five lengths only to have his lead diminish down to ¾ of a length by the time he passed the wire, it was decided not to send him to the over mile and a half Epsom Derby.

A criticism of Frankel has been that he may be lacking the great stamina to go long distances. He has excelled at distances up to a mile so far, but his turn of foot has been breathtaking in those races. Perhaps he will go down as one of the greatest milers of all time.

How to Handicap Horse Races for Profit, a Guide to Betting on Horses

This is a simple guide to betting on horses to find profitable bets.  It is not meant to be a complete tutorial on how to handicap and win money on horse racing.  That is a complicated subject and if you want to go into it in more depth, I suggest you start with a good system that will point you in the right direction.

However, if you want to handicap horse races for profit, here is how to start.  Realize that the probability of a horse winning a race determines what a profitable bet may be.  For instance, if the horse’s chances of winning are one out of three, or 3-1, then betting on the horse at lesser odds than 5-2 is financial suicide.  You may as well just go dump your money into a slot machine or toss it down the gutter.

If a horse wins 1 out of 3 then it must pay over $6 in order for you to make a profit.  That means odds of 5-2 are profitable and anything less is not.  Therefore, your job as a horse racing handicapper is to figure out each horse’s probability of winning.  There are several ways to do that.  One way, and incidentally, the way I recommend for long term profits, is to buy a good horse racing system, learn how to use it and adapt it to suit your needs, then you will be able to find value.

Another way is to read the morning line odds and then look at the actual odds on the board just before the race goes off.  If a horse is at much higher odds, it means one of two things, either the public bettors have underestimated the horse, or the handicapper who wrote the morning line over estimated the horse’s odds of winning.  Read all the comments that the handicappers have made about the horse and find out why they like it.

Write down their reasons for liking the horse and then see what happens.  After a while you will know when the handicappers have a legitimate reason for picking a horse and you will also know when the crowd under estimates a horses chances and why.  People make mistakes and that is what you make a living on betting on horses.  It doesn’t matter if it is the public handicapper or the public, as long as you can spot one of their mistakes.

The nice thing about this horse racing system is that they will keep making the same mistakes over and over again.  Once you learn to spot those mistakes and keep a record of them, you will have a way to make a profit betting on horses.

Any collector of sports memorabilia knows that anything that has to do with old-time baseball wins hands down to any other sport. Of course, it’s been around the longest with the bubble gum cards, the bats, the balls and anything and everything that can be autographed. Let’s face it, I haven’t seen any pricey tennis, golf or horse racing trading cards anywhere. Have you?

Now, as far as NFL merchandise that’s vintage and carries a steep price tag? I would have to say the autographed and authentically worn football jersey from any Hall of Fame player or superstar would be top of the list. The current card that holds the ranks is a mint or near mint condition of a 1948 Sammy Baugh card, racking in about $500,000 if you happen to own one that is of pristine condition. A 1935 National Chicle #34 Bronko Nagurski card was sold at an auction in 2008 in almost mint condition for $66,354.

When you get into the jerseys department, most of the items range from $300 up to $2,000 depending on the player of course, how long he played, if he’s in the Hall of Fame and if it’s just a signed jersey instead of one that was actually worn during games, which usually ends up being the case. Helmets are pretty much in the same price category and again, rarely do you find one that’s all scuffed and worn from banging heads in the trenches, so the item itself is just something someone autographed and not actually used at any time. Super Bowl coins and photomints can be expensive as well since the coins are usually gold or silver and actually are worth something the longer you hang onto them and are somewhat rare and only so many were made just like trading cards. Footballs work just like jerseys and helmets. Most are just never used game balls and signed but every now and then you can find an actual game ball that was used in college or a pro game garnering a superstar’s name. The price shifts a few hundred to a few thousand easily when it’s an actual ball used in the game itself rather than a ball that was just pulled out of a bag sitting over on the sideline.

There’s a lot to look for when buying NFL memorabilia, or any memorabilia. The rarer it is, the older it is, the less quantity of the item there is makes a huge difference when buying or selling. Being in the computer age, one has to be very careful of “fakes” and replicas as well since the technology is advanced enough to pull off counterfeits. Don’t be fooled.

There are a few gamers you can play, for me i like the warfare and killing games, but for you you may like sims (quite amusing) and other lifestyle games like, Tropico 3. I have had a lot of fun with this game. It is basically when you are the Goverment of a small island and you have to control everything (Like EVERYTHING) The exports, imports, many managements, farming, canning, employment, housing conditions, mining, EVERYTHING. I really do like this game, i got it about a year ago and it is still very fun because there are many many different factors and objectives, so its hard to manage them all (you have to get good at it) Its a bit complicated but the creators have still managed to put a lot of humor in it.
